Née de la révolution industrielle du XIXe siècle, la ville de Roubaix s’est construite autour du textile, et c’est dans ce contexte que Joseph Pollet fonde en 1837 La Redoute, d’abord filature familiale réputée pour ses tissus et tricots raffinés, avant de devenir leader européen de la vente par correspondance puis acteur majeur du e-commerce français dans la mode et la maison. Visionnaire, l’enseigne a marqué l’histoire du commerce moderne par ses innovations — du premier catalogue en 1928 à la carte Kangourou, du Minitel au « 24 h Chrono », jusqu’à Internet — tout en jouant un rôle clé dans l’évolution des modes de consommation.
L’exposition retrace cette success-story à travers archives, catalogues, publicités, témoignages et objets, et met en lumière ses collaborations avec de grands couturiers (Yves Saint Laurent, Sonia Rykiel, Jacquemus…), designers (Philippe Starck, Constance Guisset, Christian Lacroix…) et photographes comme Dominique Issermann et Kate Barry. _**Les après-midi du samedi et du dimanche, différents ateliers gratuits sont proposés aux enfants qui peuvent ainsi naviguer de l’un à l’autre tout en ayant des pratiques variées sur une thématique donnée.
