Ravagée par un incendie en 1775, la nouvelle Comédie fut construite et financée sur son emplacement actuel (rue Jules Lebocey) en 1777 par Nicolas Goulin, peintre en décoration. Ravaged by fire in 1775, the new Comédie was built and financed on its present site (rue Jules Lebocey) in 1777 by Nicolas Goulin, a decorative painter. After several changes of ownership, it was bought by the municipality in 1814. This charming Italian-style theater has excellent acoustics and seats 400 spectators.
