Le palais des sports renoue avec sa fonction sportive initiale. Il s’agit d’une restructuration complète des locaux avec l’aire de jeu ramenée au niveau du sol d’origine pour récupérer les 5 premiers rangs de gradins et gagner 650 places supplémentaires (jauge maximale en configuration basket : 2700 places). Des vestiaires avec sanitaires et des locaux dédiés seront aménagés au sous-sol pour la pratique sportive. Au total la Palais des sports représente un espace de 5300 m2. Le parti architectural consiste à mettre en valeur le squelette de la structure constituée par les portiques en béton sur plus de 6 mètres de hauteur. Le projet se caractérise aussi par la volonté de faire entrer l'éclairage naturel à l’intérieur de l’édifice en perçant de larges ouvertures : le béton de la couronne haute sera remplacé par des vitrages ; de la même manière, la démolition des planchers de la coursive

Der Sportpalast kehrt zu seiner ursprünglichen sportlichen Funktion zurück. Es handelt sich um eine vollständige Umstrukturierung der Räumlichkeiten, wobei die Spielfläche auf das ursprüngliche Bodenniveau zurückgeführt wird, um die ersten 5 Reihen der Zuschauerränge zu nutzen und 650 zusätzliche Plätze zu gewinnen (maximale Zuschauerzahl in der Basketballkonfiguration: 2700 Plätze). Im Untergeschoss werden Umkleidekabinen mit Sanitäranlagen und spezielle Räume für den Sportbetrieb eingerichtet. Insgesamt umfasst der Sportpalast eine Fläche von 5300 m2. Die architektonische Idee besteht darin, das Skelett der Struktur, das aus den über 6 m hohen Betonportalen besteht, hervorzuheben. De sporthal krijgt zijn oorspronkelijke functie terug. Het gaat om een volledige herstructurering van de lokalen, waarbij het speelterrein wordt teruggebracht tot het niveau van de oorspronkelijke vloer om de eerste 5 rijen tribunes te herstellen en 650 extra zitplaatsen te verkrijgen (maximumcapaciteit in basketbalconfiguratie: 2700 zitplaatsen). In de kelder zullen kleedkamers met sanitaire voorzieningen en speciale ruimten voor sportactiviteiten worden gebouwd. In totaal vertegenwoordigt het Palais des Sports een ruimte van 5300 m2.
