Fils du grand ferronnier d'Art André Lavrat, François Lavrat commence dés l'enfance à travailler le métal par jeu et par plaisir. Après des études d'art plastique à l'école Boulle, il décide de devenir Sculpteur sur métaux. François Lavrat is de zoon van de grote ambachtsman in smeedijzer André Lavrat. Hij begon als kind met metaal te werken, voor zijn plezier en plezier.
