Un city stade, aussi connu sous le nom de terrain multisports, est une installation urbaine se présentant sous la forme d'un ou plusieurs terrains entourés d'une enceinte en une zone bien définie et proposant diverses activités sportives. Ainsi, il peut se composer de plusieurs types de terrains : avec des cages de but pour le football, des paniers en hauteur pour le basket, des filets pour le volleyball, des cages plus petites destinées au handball, etc. Le type de sol de chaque terrain dépend du sport pour la pratique duquel il a été construit. Ce type de terrain multisports s'adresse à toutes les populations désireuses de pratiquer du sport et se défouler, où qu'elles résident. Le stade est en libre accès et l'entrée pour y faire du sport n'est pas payante. Ils sont aussi bien adaptés aux adultes qu'aux adolescents, et parfois des terrains aménagés spécialement pour les enfants sont présents.

Diese Art von Multisportplatz ist für alle Bevölkerungsgruppen geeignet, die Sport treiben und sich austoben wollen, egal wo sie wohnen. Das Stadion ist frei zugänglich und der Eintritt zum Sporttreiben ist nicht kostenpflichtig. Sie sind für Erwachsene und Jugendliche gleichermaßen geeignet, und manchmal gibt es auch speziell für Kinder angelegte Plätze.

Por ejemplo, puede constar de varios tipos de pistas: con porterías para fútbol, canastas altas para baloncesto, redes para voleibol, postes más pequeños para balonmano, etc. El tipo de suelo de cada campo depende del deporte para el que fue construido. Este tipo de terreno polideportivo se dirige a todas las poblaciones que deseen practicar deporte y desahogarse, vivan donde vivan.
