Place Gandilhon Gens d’Armes – Murat

C’était autrefois la place de la boucherie. Avant 1850 elle servait d’abattoirs. D’après les statistiques de 1844 on y tuait en moyenne 200 bœufs ou vaches, 2.600 veaux, 5500 moutons, brebis ou chèvres et 250 porcs par an.

This used to be the place of the butcher's shop. Before 1850 it was used as a slaughterhouse. According to the statistics of 1844 an average of 200 oxen or cows, 2,600 calves, 5,500 sheep, ewes or goats and 250 pigs were slaughtered here every year.
