A free, open space for everyone to discover the written word The Maison du livre is located in Bécherel, Brittany's Village du Livre and Petite Cité de Caractère, halfway between Rennes and Saint-Malo. Created in 2011 by the Communauté de communes du Pays de Bécherel as a Maison du livre et du tourisme, it joined Rennes Métropole in 2014. It is a cultural facility of Rennes Métropole (along with the Ecomusée and the Champs Libres, including the Musée de Bretagne and the library), with tourism now managed by Destination Rennes. A permanent space for the discovery of books and writing in all their forms of expression, it promotes literature as well as photography, illustration, publishing, calligraphy, comics and theater. It also focuses on book crafts and manufacturing techniques: bookbinding, silk-screening, engraving, printing? "Inhabited" by exhibitions on books and writing, she offers year-round activities in the form of workshops for all, and especially for schoolchildren, for whom she calls on the services of mainly local artists. It also organizes events on the first Sunday of each month (from March to December), including Book Festivals and Book Nights. The Maison du livre also supports contemporary creation, and as such welcomes authors and artists in residence. Admission is free and all events are free!

Ein offener und kostenloser Raum zur Entdeckung von Schriften für alle Das Maison du livre befindet sich in Bécherel, einem Bücherdorf und einer kleinen Stadt mit Charakter in der Bretagne, auf halbem Weg zwischen Rennes und Saint-Malo. Sie wurde 2011 von der Communauté de communes du Pays de Bécherel als Haus des Buches und des Tourismus gegründet und gehört seit 2014 zu Rennes Métropole. Sie ist eine kulturelle Einrichtung von Rennes Métropole (zusammen mit dem Ecomusée und den Champs Libres, zu denen das Musée de Bretagne und die Bibliothek gehören), wobei der touristische Teil nun von Destination Rennes verwaltet wird. Die Bibliothek ist ein ständiger Ort der Entdeckung von Büchern und Schriften in all ihren Ausdrucksformen, wobei Literatur, Fotografie, Illustration, Verlagswesen, Kalligraphie, Comics und Theater gleichermaßen gefördert werden. Sie interessiert sich auch für das Buchhandwerk und die Herstellungstechniken: Buchbinderei, Siebdruck, Gravur, Druckerei? "Da sie von Ausstellungen rund um das Buch und die Schrift bewohnt wird, bietet sie das ganze Jahr über Aktivitäten in Form von Workshops für alle an, insbesondere für Schulklassen, für die sie überwiegend lokale Künstler engagiert. Außerdem bietet es an jedem ersten Sonntag im Monat (von März bis Dezember) Veranstaltungen an und organisiert Events für alle (Fête du livre, Nuit du livre). Das Maison du livre ist auch ein Ort, an dem zeitgenössisches Kunstschaffen gefördert wird, und empfängt daher Autoren und Künstler in Residenzen. Der Eintritt ist frei und die Veranstaltungen sind kostenlos!
