LE JARDIN DES CINQ CONTINENTS, LE JARDIN DU MO.CO. – Montpellier

Le Jardin des cinq continents, un jardin-atlas imaginé par Bertrand Lavier. Bertrand Lavier, à qui l'espace du parc a été confié pour la réalisation d'une œuvre pérenne, a travaillé sur un jardin en forme de mappemonde, composé d'espèces végétales du monde entier, choisies en concertation avec le jardinier, paysagiste, botaniste et biologiste Gilles Clément. Ce projet s'inscrit par essence sur la durée, le temps naturel nécessaire à l'évolution végétale au fil des saisons : temps de plantation, de pousse et d'évolution, animaux paisibles, sans prédateurs, lents… Deux tortues viendront habiter cet espace vivant. Le jardin est divisé deux parties : l'une pénétrable, et l'autre non. Une signalétique dessinée par Bertrand Lavier reprend les codes d'étiquetage des jardins botaniques. Une fontaine aux arrosoirs, également conçue par l'artiste, s'intègre au centre de cet atlas planté. Ce jardin, créé pour le MOCO, est le premier jamais réalisé par l'artiste.

The Garden of Five Continents, a garden-atlas imagined by Bertrand Lavier. Bertrand Lavier, who was entrusted with the space in the park for the creation of a perennial work, worked on a garden in the shape of a world map, composed of plant species from all over the world, chosen in consultation with the gardener, landscape gardener, botanist and biologist Gilles Clément. This project is essentially about duration, the natural time necessary for plant evolution over the seasons: planting, growth and evolution time, peaceful animals, without predators, slow… Two turtles will come to live in this living space. The garden is divided into two parts: one penetrable and the other not. Signage designed by Bertrand Lavier uses the labelling codes of botanical gardens. A fountain with watering cans, also designed by the artist, fits into the centre of this planted atlas. This garden, created for the MOCO, is the first ever created by the artist.

Der Jardin des cinq continents, ein von Bertrand Lavier erdachter Atlasgarten. Bertrand Lavier, dem die Fläche des Parks für ein dauerhaftes Werk anvertraut wurde, arbeitete an einem Garten in Form einer Weltkarte, der aus Pflanzenarten aus aller Welt besteht, die in Absprache mit dem Gärtner, Landschaftsarchitekten, Botaniker und Biologen Gilles Clément ausgewählt wurden. Dieses Projekt ist von seinem Wesen her auf Dauer angelegt, die natürliche Zeit, die für die pflanzliche Entwicklung im Laufe der Jahreszeiten notwendig ist: Pflanz-, Wachstums- und Entwicklungszeit, friedliche Tiere, ohne Räuber, langsam… Zwei Schildkröten werden diesen lebendigen Raum bewohnen. Der Garten ist in zwei Teile gegliedert: ein Teil ist betretbar, der andere nicht. Eine von Bertrand Lavier entworfene Beschilderung übernimmt die Beschriftungscodes der botanischen Gärten. Ein Brunnen mit Gießkannen, ebenfalls vom Künstler entworfen, fügt sich in die Mitte dieses bepflanzten Atlas ein. Dieser für das MOCO geschaffene Garten ist der erste, den der Künstler jemals realisiert hat.

De Tuin van de Vijf Continenten, een atlastuin ontworpen door Bertrand Lavier. Bertrand Lavier, aan wie de creatie van een permanent werk in het park is toevertrouwd, heeft gewerkt aan een tuin in de vorm van een wereldkaart, samengesteld uit plantensoorten uit de hele wereld, gekozen in overleg met de tuinman, landschapsarchitect, botanicus en bioloog Gilles Clément. Dit project gaat in essentie over tijd, de natuurlijke tijd die nodig is voor de evolutie van planten gedurende de seizoenen: tijd voor planten, groei en evolutie, vreedzame dieren, zonder roofdieren, langzaam… Twee schildpadden zullen deze leefruimte bewonen. De tuin is verdeeld in twee delen: een deel dat kan worden betreden, en een deel dat dat niet kan. Een bewegwijzering ontworpen door Bertrand Lavier maakt gebruik van de etiketteringscodes van botanische tuinen. Een eveneens door de kunstenaar ontworpen gieterfontein is geïntegreerd in het midden van deze beplante atlas. Deze tuin, aangelegd voor het MOCO, is de eerste die de kunstenaar ooit heeft aangelegd.

El Jardín de los Cinco Continentes, un jardín atlético diseñado por Bertrand Lavier. Bertrand Lavier, que recibió el espacio del parque para crear una obra permanente, trabajó en un jardín en forma de mapamundi, compuesto por especies vegetales de todo el mundo, elegidas en consulta con el jardinero, paisajista, botánico y biólogo Gilles Clément. Este proyecto trata en esencia del tiempo, el tiempo natural necesario para la evolución de las plantas a lo largo de las estaciones: tiempo para plantar, crecer y evolucionar, animales pacíficos, sin depredadores, lentos… Dos tortugas habitarán este espacio vital. El jardín está dividido en dos partes: una en la que se puede entrar y otra en la que no. Una señalización diseñada por Bertrand Lavier utiliza los códigos de etiquetado de los jardines botánicos. En el centro de este atlas vegetal se integra una fuente de regadera, también diseñada por el artista. Este jardín, creado para MOCO, es el primero que realiza el artista.

Il Giardino dei Cinque Continenti, un giardino atlante progettato da Bertrand Lavier. Bertrand Lavier, a cui è stato concesso lo spazio del parco per realizzare un'opera permanente, ha lavorato a un giardino a forma di mappamondo, composto da specie vegetali provenienti da tutto il mondo, scelte di concerto con il giardiniere, paesaggista, botanico e biologo Gilles Clément. Questo progetto riguarda essenzialmente il tempo, il tempo naturale necessario per l'evoluzione delle piante nel corso delle stagioni: tempo per la semina, la crescita e l'evoluzione, animali pacifici, senza predatori, lenti… Due tartarughe abiteranno questo spazio vitale. Il giardino è diviso in due parti: una in cui si può entrare e l'altra in cui non si può entrare. Una segnaletica progettata da Bertrand Lavier utilizza i codici di etichettatura dei giardini botanici. Una fontana di annaffiatoi, anch'essa progettata dall'artista, è integrata al centro di questo atlante vegetale. Questo giardino, creato per il MOCO, è il primo mai realizzato dall'artista.
