Four médiéval – Sadirac

Niché au cœur des coteaux de l’Entre-deux-Mers, Sadirac, petit village à 20 km de Bordeaux, est un centre potier important. Dans son sous-sol un trésor : une argile bleue d’une grande qualité plastique particulièrement appréciée des potiers. La tradition potière à Sadirac remonte à l’Antiquité avec un essor important du 14e siècle jusqu'à fin du 19e siècle. Il y eut sur la commune de Sadirac cinquante fours en activité autour desquels s’est organisé toute une activité rythmée par les cuissons. Certains fours sont encore visibles comme la reconstitution du four médiéval à proximité de la Maison de la Poterie.

Nestled in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers hills, Sadirac, a small village 20 km from Bordeaux, is an important pottery center. In its subsoil lies a treasure: a blue clay of a great plastic quality particularly appreciated by potters. The tradition of pottery in Sadirac goes back to the Antiquity with an important development from the 14th century to the end of the 19th century. There were fifty active kilns in the commune of Sadirac around which a whole activity was organized, punctuated by the firing of the clay. Some of the kilns are still visible, such as the reconstitution of the medieval kiln near the Maison de la Poterie.

Sadirac, ein kleines Dorf 20 km von Bordeaux entfernt, liegt inmitten der Hänge des Entre-deux-Mers und ist ein wichtiges Töpferzentrum. In seinem Untergrund befindet sich ein Schatz: ein blauer Ton von hoher plastischer Qualität, der von den Töpfern besonders geschätzt wird. Die Töpfertradition in Sadirac reicht bis in die Antike zurück und erlebte vom 14. bis zum Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts einen starken Aufschwung. In der Gemeinde Sadirac gab es fünfzig aktive Öfen, um die herum sich eine ganze, vom Brennen geprägte Aktivität abspielte. Einige Öfen sind noch sichtbar, wie der rekonstruierte mittelalterliche Ofen in der Nähe des Maison de la Poterie (Töpfereihaus).

Sadirac, een klein dorp op 20 km van Bordeaux, ligt verscholen in het hart van de heuvels van de Entre-deux-Mers en is een belangrijk pottenbakkerscentrum. In zijn ondergrond ligt een schat: een blauwe klei met een grote plastische kwaliteit die bijzonder gewaardeerd wordt door pottenbakkers. De traditie van het aardewerk in Sadirac gaat terug tot de oudheid, met een belangrijke ontwikkeling vanaf de 14e eeuw tot het einde van de 19e eeuw. In de gemeente Sadirac waren vijftig ovens in bedrijf, waarrond een hele activiteit was georganiseerd, onderbroken door het stoken. Sommige ovens zijn nog zichtbaar, zoals de reconstructie van de middeleeuwse oven bij het Maison de la Poterie.

Enclavado en el corazón de las colinas de Entre-deux-Mers, Sadirac, pequeño pueblo a 20 km de Burdeos, es un importante centro alfarero. En su subsuelo yace un tesoro: una arcilla azul de gran calidad plástica particularmente apreciada por los alfareros. La tradición alfarera de Sadirac se remonta a la Antigüedad, con un importante desarrollo desde el siglo XIV hasta finales del XIX. En la comuna de Sadirac funcionaban cincuenta hornos, en torno a los cuales se organizaba toda una actividad jalonada de cocciones. Algunos hornos aún son visibles, como la reconstrucción del horno medieval cerca de la Maison de la Poterie.

Immerso nel cuore delle colline dell'Entre-deux-Mers, Sadirac, un piccolo villaggio a 20 km da Bordeaux, è un importante centro di lavorazione della ceramica. Nel suo sottosuolo si trova un tesoro: un'argilla blu di grande qualità plastica particolarmente apprezzata dai ceramisti. La tradizione della ceramica a Sadirac risale all'antichità, con un importante sviluppo dal XIV secolo alla fine del XIX secolo. Nel comune di Sadirac erano in funzione cinquanta forni, attorno ai quali si organizzava un'intera attività, scandita dalla cottura. Alcuni forni sono ancora visibili, come la ricostruzione del forno medievale vicino alla Maison de la Poterie.
