Eglise de Saint-Arey

Saint Arey a été Evêque de Gap de 579 à 614. Issu d’une noble famille gallo-Romaine, il fut ordonné prêtre, puis devint évêque de Grenoble et continua son sacerdoce dans le Trièves, puis à Gap. L'existence de l'église est attestée au moins depuis 1096.

Saint Arey was the Bishop of Gap between 579 and 614. Born into a noble Gallo-Roman family, he was ordained priest, and then Bishop of Grenoble, before continuing his vocation in the Triève and in Gap. Documents proving existence of the church date back to at least 1096.
