L’imposante frise sculptée, datée d’environ 15 000 ans, rassemble chevaux, bisons et cervidés, parfois superposés. Au pied de la frise, reconstitution du squelette de la Dame du Cap-Blanc. Classified as "Historic Monument" in 1926, this Magdalenian prehistoric shelter joins on the right bank of the Beune, nearby Les Eyzies. The remarkable sculpted bestiary of this rock shelter stretches across 13 of the 15 meters of its length. At the origin, the ochre of the cliff face probably lent its colour to the representations of horses, bison and various species of the deer family, which are superimposed in places. Through the vitality and the depth of its reliefs, achieved with flint picks, Cap Blanc is one of the great masterpieces of the monumental art of sculpture of the upper Palaeolithic (35,000 / 10,000 years ago). 1926 als historisch bedeutsames Denkmal eingestuft, befindet sich dieser prähistorische, magdalenische Unterschlupf auf der rechten Uferseite der Beune nur wenige Kilometer von Les Eyzies entfernt. Die bemerkenswerten Skulpturen von verschiedenen Tieren erstrecken sich über 13 bis 15 Meter auf der Felswand. Pferde, Bisons und Rotwild, teilweise überlappend, waren auf der Wand wahrscheinlich ursprünglich ockerfarben bemalt. Die mit spitzen Feuersteinen bearbeiteten Reliefs im Abri Cap Blanc zählen in Kraft und Tiefe zu den größten Meisterwerken der Skulptur-Kunst während der Altsteinzeit von 35.000 bis 10.000 v. Chr. L'imponente fregio scolpito, datato a circa 15.000 anni fa, riunisce cavalli, bisonti e cervi, talvolta sovrapposti.
