Trois musiciens attendent Arthur Toscan de Nini, un prestigieux chef d’orchestre qui doit les auditionner. Un malaise s’installe après qu’Arthur se soit mis à raconter le crash de son avion. Il n’est pas du tout au courant de cette audition et prétend être arrivé là par hasard. Il semble complètement perdu et ne pense qu’à une chose : qu’on lui indique le trajet pour l’aéroport où il souhaite reprendre un avion pour rentrer chez lui. Visiblement, Arthur ne vit pas sur le même plan de réalité que les trois musiciens. Ceux-ci lui font comprendre qu’il faut absolument un visa et que pour l’obtenir, il doit mettre en œuvre un projet artistique. Arthur se plie à ces injonctions absurdes et commence à inviter en direct un scénario musical, en guide d’audition, en demandant aux trois musiciens d’improviser. Il utilise comme point de départ le crash de l’avion dont il est à peine rescapé et fait intervenir une équipe de télévision qui interviewe son double, le chef très autoritaire : Newt Fake et ses musiciens. Three musicians are waiting for Arthur Toscan de Nini, a prestigious conductor, to audition them. An uneasy feeling sets in when Arthur starts talking about his plane crash. He knows nothing about the audition and claims to have arrived there by chance. He seems completely lost and can only think of one thing: getting directions to the airport where he wants to catch a plane home. Clearly, Arthur is not living on the same plane of reality as the three musicians. They tell him that he absolutely needs a visa, and that to obtain one, he has to put together an artistic project. Arthur complies with these absurd injunctions and begins to invite a live musical scenario as an audition guide, asking the three musicians to improvise. He uses the plane crash from which he barely escaped as a starting point, and brings in a TV crew to interview his double, the overbearing conductor Newt Fake and his musicians. Drei Musiker warten auf Arthur Toscan de Nini, einen angesehenen Dirigenten, der sie vorspielen soll. Nachdem Arthur vom Absturz seines Flugzeuges erzählt hat, entsteht ein Unbehagen. Er weiß nichts von dem Vorspielen und behauptet, er sei nur zufällig dort gelandet. Er scheint völlig verloren zu sein und will nur eines: den Weg zum Flughafen, von dem aus er wieder nach Hause fliegen will. Offensichtlich lebt Arthur nicht auf derselben Realitätsebene wie die drei Musiker. Die drei machen ihm klar, dass er unbedingt ein Visum braucht und dass er dafür ein künstlerisches Projekt umsetzen muss. Arthur fügt sich diesen absurden Anweisungen und beginnt, ein musikalisches Szenario live einzuladen, indem er die drei Musiker bittet, zu improvisieren. Er nutzt den Flugzeugabsturz, den er gerade noch überlebt hat, als Ausgangspunkt und lässt ein Fernsehteam einschalten, das seinen Doppelgänger, den sehr autoritären Anführer: Newt Fake und seine Musiker, interviewt. Drie muzikanten wachten op een auditie van Arthur Toscan de Nini, een prestigieuze dirigent. Er ontstaat een ongemakkelijk gevoel als Arthur begint te praten over zijn vliegtuigongeluk. Hij weet niets over de auditie en beweert er per toeval te zijn aangekomen. Hij lijkt volledig de weg kwijt en kan maar aan één ding denken: de weg vinden naar het vliegveld waar hij het vliegtuig naar huis wil nemen. Arthur leeft duidelijk niet op hetzelfde niveau van realiteit als de drie muzikanten. Ze hebben hem verteld dat hij absoluut een visum nodig heeft en dat hij daarvoor een artistiek project moet opzetten. Arthur gehoorzaamt aan deze absurde bevelen en begint een live muzikaal scenario uit te nodigen als auditiegids, waarbij hij de drie muzikanten vraagt om te improviseren. Hij neemt als uitgangspunt het vliegtuigongeluk waarvan hij ternauwernood overleefde en haalt er een televisieploeg bij om zijn dubbelganger te interviewen, de zeer autoritaire dirigent: Newt Fake en zijn muzikanten. Tres músicos esperan la audición de Arthur Toscan de Nini, un prestigioso director de orquesta. Una sensación de inquietud se apodera de ellos cuando Arthur empieza a hablar de su accidente de avión. No sabe nada de la audición y afirma haber llegado allí por casualidad. Parece completamente perdido y sólo puede pensar en una cosa: conseguir indicaciones para llegar al aeropuerto donde quiere coger un avión de vuelta a casa. Está claro que Arthur no vive en el mismo plano de realidad que los tres músicos. Le dicen que necesita un visado y que para obtenerlo tiene que montar un proyecto artístico. Arthur acata estos absurdos mandatos y comienza a invitar a un escenario musical vivo como guía de audición, pidiendo a los tres músicos que improvisen. Toma como punto de partida el accidente de avión del que apenas sobrevivió, y trae a un equipo de televisión para entrevistar a su doble, el muy autoritario director de orquesta: Newt Fake y sus músicos. Tre musicisti aspettano che Arthur Toscan de Nini, un prestigioso direttore d'orchestra, faccia loro un'audizione. Un sentimento di disagio si instaura dopo che Arthur inizia a parlare del suo incidente aereo. Non sa nulla dell'audizione e sostiene di essere arrivato lì per caso. Sembra completamente smarrito e riesce a pensare solo a una cosa: ottenere indicazioni per l'aeroporto dove vuole prendere l'aereo per tornare a casa. È chiaro che Arthur non vive sullo stesso piano di realtà dei tre musicisti. Gli dicono che ha assolutamente bisogno di un visto e che per ottenerlo deve mettere in piedi un progetto artistico. Arthur si adegua a queste assurde ingiunzioni e inizia a invitare uno scenario musicale dal vivo come guida per l'audizione, chiedendo ai tre musicisti di improvvisare. Prende spunto dall'incidente aereo da cui è sopravvissuto per un pelo e fa intervenire una troupe televisiva per intervistare il suo doppio, il direttore d'orchestra molto autoritario: Newt Fake e i suoi musicisti. Ispirato al film "La répétition d'orchestre" e alla sceneggiatura non realizzata "Mastorna" di Federico Fellini.
