La centrale hydraulique de Fumel, après quelques 80 ans de service, est toujours active ; et avec de beaux jours devant elle pour sa capacité à nous procurer cette énergie renouvelable dont nous avons tant besoin. Du type "au fil de l'eau" elle fut construite par Pont-à -Mousson, alors propriétaire de l’usine métallurgique de Fumel qui avait un besoin accru d’énergie pour la reconstruction de la France … Nous étions juste après guerre… Vous entrerez dans la centrale pour un visuel panoramique sur les deux turbines Kaplan, de vrais collectors ! La visite ne descend pas dans les niveaux inférieurs. Places limitées. Réservation indispensable.

The Fumel hydraulic power plant, after some 80 years of service, is still active; and with a bright future ahead of it for its ability to provide us with this renewable energy that we so badly need.
