Le groupe AH ! KWANTOU réunit le chanteur et guitariste venu du Ghana, Kyekyeku (prononcer tchétchékou), et une bande d’excellents musiciens tous installés dans le sud-ouest de la France, au service d’un détonnant brassage musical qui du highlife à la soul, de l’afrobeat à la funk, puise dans les héritages atlantiques. C'est au bord de cet océan que la rencontre de ces passionnés de grooves, de fanatiques de l’exubérance polyrythmique africaine a donné naissance à un premier album éponyme : AH ! KWANTOU, qui témoigne à lui seul de la fécondité des musiques de l’Atlantique noir, et de leur actualité… pour qui sait les marier avec autant d’amour, de respect, et de l’envie de faire danser.

The AH! KWANTOU brings together the singer and guitarist from Ghana, Kyekyeku (pronounced tche?tche?kou), and a band of excellent musicians, all based in the south-west of France, to create an astonishing musical mix of highlife, soul, afrobeat and funk, drawing on the Atlantic heritage. It was on the shores of this ocean that the meeting of these groove enthusiasts, fanatics of African polyrhythmic exuberance, gave birth to an eponymous debut album: AH! KWANTOU, which alone testifies to the fragility of the music of the Black Atlantic, and its actuality… for those who know how to marry it with love, respect and the desire to make people dance.

Die Band AH! KWANTOU vereint den aus Ghana stammenden Sänger und Gitarristen Kyekyeku (sprich: tche?tche?kou) mit einer Gruppe exzellenter Musiker, die alle im Südwesten Frankreichs beheimatet sind, im Dienste einer erstaunlichen musikalischen Mischung, die von Highlife bis Soul, von Afrobeat bis Funk reicht und aus den atlantischen Heritagen schöpft. An der Küste dieses Ozeans trafen sich diese leidenschaftlichen Groove-Liebhaber und Fanatiker der afrikanischen polyrhythmischen Exuberanz und brachten ein erstes gleichnamiges Album heraus: AH! KWANTOU, das allein schon von der Köstlichkeit der Musik des Schwarzen Atlantiks und ihrer Aktualität zeugt… für den, der sie mit so viel Liebe, Respekt und der Lust am Tanzen zu verbinden weiß.

De groep AH! KWANTOU brengt de Ghanese zanger en gitarist Kyekyeku (uitgesproken als tche?tche?kou) en een groep uitstekende muzikanten uit het zuidwesten van Frankrijk samen om een verbazingwekkende muzikale smeltkroes van highlife, soul, afrobeat en funk uit de Atlantische hegemonie te creëren. Het was aan de oevers van deze oceaan dat de ontmoeting tussen deze groove-enthousiastelingen en liefhebbers van Afrikaanse polyritmische uitbundigheid resulteerde in een eerste gelijknamig album: AH!
