Throughout 2024, Villa Bedat will focus on the theme of sport and sporting activities in the Haut-Béarn region. The Olympic Games, followed by our region's disciplines and clubs, will be the focus of the next two chapters, starting in July. The "History of Sport in the Haut-Béarn" exhibition opens the first chapter of this fascinating saga, from the beginnings to the structuring of sport in our rural and mountain lands. At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when they had free time, the people of Haut-Béarn took part in sporting activities that, over time and thanks to the financial and moral support of the industrialists and notables of Oloron, became the spearheads of the region's sporting disciplines (quilles de neuf, pelote basque, cycling and rugby). This exhibition is illustrated by the pictorial works of Galerist artist Jean-Yves Arrieux.

Das ganze Jahr 2024 über wird die Villa Bedat das Thema Sport und sportliche Betätigung im Haut-Béarn behandeln. Die Olympischen Spiele und anschließend die Disziplinen und Vereine unseres Gebiets werden in den beiden folgenden Kapiteln ab Juli behandelt. Die Ausstellung "Die Geschichte des Sports im Haut-Béarn" schlägt also das erste Kapitel dieser spannenden Saga auf, die von den Anfängen bis zur Strukturierung des Sports in unseren ländlichen und bergigen Gebieten reicht. Um die Wende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert widmeten sich die Menschen in Haut-Béarn, wenn sie Freizeit hatten, sportlichen Aktivitäten, die eher der Freizeitgestaltung dienten. Mit der Zeit und dank der finanziellen und moralischen Unterstützung von Industriellen und Honoratioren aus Oloron wurden daraus die führenden Sportarten (Neuner-Kegeln, Pelota Basque, Radsport und Rugby). A finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, cuando disponían de tiempo libre, los habitantes del Haut-Béarn practicaban actividades deportivas, en su mayoría de ocio, que con el tiempo, gracias al apoyo financiero y moral de los industriales y notables de Oloron, se convirtieron en las principales disciplinas deportivas (quilles de neuf, pelote basque, ciclismo y rugby).
