Le 9 mai 2011, jour de la Fête de l’Europe, Le Havre officialisait son jumelage avec Magdebourg en Allemagne. Symbole de l’amitié franco-allemande et du projet européen, cet acte était aussi la promesse d’échanges et culturels entre les deux villes. Depuis cette date, les conservatoires de musique Arthur Honegger du Havre et Georg Philipp Telemann de Magdebourg collaborent activement en organisant des échanges de classes d’instrument et des rencontres d’orchestres. Des projets historiquement soutenus par l’association Le Havre-Magdebourg. C’est dans cette dynamique que l’Ensemble KONbarock, formation du conservatoire de Magdebourg dirigée par Viktoria Malkowski, donnera ce concert mettant à l’honneur des compositeurs baroques européens comme Henry Purcell, Johann David Heinichen, Marco Uccellini, Jean-Féry Rebel et plus particulièrement Georg Philpp Telemann, né dans la ville allemande. On May 9, 2011, Europe Day, Le Havre formalized its twinning with Magdeburg in Germany. Am 9. Mai 2011, dem Tag des Europatages, wurde die Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Le Havre und Magdeburg offiziell besiegelt. Als Symbol der deutsch-französischen Freundschaft und des europäischen Projekts versprach dieser Akt auch einen kulturellen Austausch zwischen den beiden Städten. Seitdem arbeiten die Musikhochschulen Arthur Honegger in Le Havre und Georg Philipp Telemann in Magdeburg aktiv zusammen, indem sie Austauschprogramme für Instrumentalklassen und Orchestertreffen organisieren. Diese Projekte werden seit jeher von der Association Le Havre-Magdebourg unterstützt.
