Based on a collection of lyric poems, Carmina Burana was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. Presented for the first time in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera, this masterly piece has always fascinated audiences. The most famous movement, "O Fortuna", repeated at the end of the work, is now world-famous. Performed with passion and power by choirs and soloists, these secular and Latin songs tell a story of life, death, destiny and, above all, love. Nearly 100 artists sing of the joy of spring?s return and the pleasures of alcohol, play with the wheel of fate, dance of love and lust. This new production takes up this musical phenomenon with sensuality and emotion, showing that music, gesture and speech are inseparable. This original, spirited show, one of the great successes of the 20th century, has been performed all over the world, and will be touring Europe from November 2025.

Der berühmteste Satz, "O Fortuna", der am Ende des Werkes wiederholt wird, ist heute weltberühmt.
