CRAFT Centre de Recherche sur les Arts du Feu et de la Terre – Limoges

Atelier de recherche et de création contemporaine, le CRAFT signifiant « Centre de recherche sur les arts du feu et de la terre », invite des créateurs du monde entier (designers, artistes, architectes etc.) ayant des pratiques variées à réinventer et développer des projets autour du matériau céramique. Il les accompagne dans leurs démarches créatrices et à la réalisation de leur projet. Une fois le projet finalisé, une œuvre revient à l’artiste et une autre entre dans la collection du CRAFT. Elaborées à partir de matériaux techniques industriels, caractéristiques des dernières avancées technologiques ou de porcelaines plus classiques, les créations du CRAFT transcendent l’art de la céramique. Innovation, avant-garde, transgression qualifient autant d’objets design ou architecturaux, de prototypes créés en vue d’une production industrielle en série, ou encore d’œuvres inédites.

Das CRAFT, das für "Centre de recherche sur les arts du feu et de la terre" (Forschungszentrum für Feuer- und Erdkunst) steht, lädt Designer, Künstler, Architekten usw. aus aller Welt mit unterschiedlichen Praktiken ein, Projekte rund um das Material Keramik neu zu erfinden und zu entwickeln. Es begleitet sie in ihren kreativen Prozessen und bei der Umsetzung ihrer Projekte. Nach Abschluss des Projekts geht ein Werk an den Künstler zurück und ein anderes wird in die Sammlung des CRAFT aufgenommen. Die Kreationen des CRAFT werden aus technischen Industriematerialien, die den neuesten technologischen Entwicklungen entsprechen, oder aus klassischem Porzellan hergestellt und gehen über die Kunst der Keramik hinaus.
